Hybrid award show, Atlassian

For the second year in a row, I’m hosting this event for the Australian software company Atlassian. ShipIt Days are like hackathons: employees get 24 hours to develop an idea and pitch it.

These liveshows are held simultaneously across the globe, and for Europe, we do it live from their office in Amsterdam. There’s an in-person audience, plus a livestream for colleagues tuning in remotely. I’m one of three hosts, alongside two Atlassian team members.

The vibe is casual, playful, and full of humor, with game-show elements that everyone can join in on via chat. Finalists and winners appear live on the ‘Zoom’ stage, and nothing is pre-scripted—it’s all live on the spot.

Each edition has a unique theme. This time, it was ‘climb,’ because together, you reach greater heights. The theme was woven into everything, even the outfits!
